The King Midas of iPads redefines excess
What do you get the person with a US$1,200 stroller? A golden iPad, of course. Now you can be the obnoxious jerk at Gymboree with this eyesore. Encased in 22ct "solid gold" (how heavy is this thing?) and bedazzled with 53 gems, the iPad Supreme Edition by Stuart and Katherine Hughes shouts "Mug me." You'll pay £129,995 (about $190,000 as of this writing) for the privilege of bringing The Smugness™ to epic levels. Conversely, you could buy 300+ Mac minis, a BMW 7 Series or 4 tons of Gummy Bears. Happy shopping!

I am buying this thing....where's these one available?
May 14 2010 at 8:24 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt's 22 carat gold. That's very soft. Gold is not a durable metal. If it's an outer plating than it's very easy to scratch. If it's a replacement back plate, then one hard tap and it's dinged. I'd hate to see this dropped on the floor.
No, scratch that, I'd love to see it dropped on the floor. If you have too much money then just give it to me, don't be stupid like this.
Obviously you've never priced food in bulk before. ;) Just contract directly with the factory. Discounts are substantial. Also shipping by cargo container is very cheap per pound. Purchase a significantly large quantity and you could easily get the gummy bear price after delivery to well under $2/lb, so by my estimates you could get closer to 50 tons, which based on established scaling factors is enough snacks for a LAN party of 240,000 college students (provided that everyone also brings $5 for pizza.
Now that we got that sorted away, does anyone know a bank that would finance $190,000 for a kick@$$ LAN party?
LOL. I wonder if anybody would do this with, say, an HPalm WebOS tablet? It's already been done with the Microsoft Courier somewhere in vaporware-land...

May 14 2010 at 3:22 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'm pretty sure that a seven series is cheaper than that. Sure you could get the 760Li with all the options and stuff but for $190,000 you'd still have some change. You could get the maseratie Quattroporte Sport GT and have them customize it and have every option installed and mabye spend $190,000 because my dads Quattroporte Sport GT was only $150,000 and that has quite a few options
