Rumor: White faceplate for the 4G iPhone
What don't we know about the 4G iPhone at this point? This must be how clairvoyants feel on Christmas Eve. Taiwanese site Apple.pro compounds the letdown* by posting pictures of what appears to be a white iPhone faceplate. The holes for the speaker and front-facing camera that we're all expecting identify it as the front plate. There seems to be a small slit above the speaker slot, but that's probably to accommodate the ambient light sensor.Currently, white iPhone models still have a black casing on the back. It looks like the new model will be white in front and back.
At this point, the 4G iPhone will have to sing "Hello My Baby" to surprise us, and that's too bad. Don't you miss the anticipation that used to precede these announcements? I sure do. Call me old fashioned.
*For a real treat, check out what Google Translate did to that post.

I don't mind either knowing or not knowing, I just pray that the new iPhone delivers what the customers want. The HTC desire is really stepping up the competition so Apple need to start listening to customers. Led flash plus flash support in web pages please and a much faster processor.

Hurray! I've always like the iPod in white and lamented the move away from white to black instead. Needless to say my iPhone is a white version but I'd prefer it if more of the device was white rather than just the rear case.

LOL
Miss the anticipation?
THEN STOP FREAKING ROOTING OUT ANY STORY OR DETAIL BEFORE THEY'RE ANNOUNCED!
There, I feel better. I get that it's kind of the job of an Apple blog to post these things, but editorializing that you wish the secrets stayed secret while simultaneously trafficking in those same secrets with your links is douchey.
The distinction is "rooting around, speculating, finding rumors, wondering if, fantasizing that" vs. "this is what it is". Many people find the former to be fun in and of itself, and the latter is a buzzkill.
My two cents. No change.
Every time I've considered a white iPhone, the thing that has stopped me is how weird it looks with the white back and black front. The black one has a much more unified design, the white one always looked like a cheap third-party knockoff, like those kiosks at the mall that let you change out your battery cover or something.
If the white one is all white, I can't say I'd get one, but I certainly would give it more consideration than before.
So the question I would raise is when is Apple going to close the doors on their factory in Vietnam? 1st the iphone 4g (Excluding the dumba** that lost it at the bar), then the new macbook, and now the ipod touch with camera. I have never seen leaks this bad with Apple. Somethings gotta give.

That will really surprise the world.
I was just thinking that. What if Apple is behind the leaks? What if they are all fake?
Should I get my tinfoil hat?
I do believe you mean that current white models have the black casing on the FRONT, not the back.
Anywho, I've always been a fan of the color options. White looks sleek, but I'm not sure how it's going to look on the aluminum body that's leaked. May have to stick with black.
It's not weird to not like the surprise ruined. I'm the same, I like not knowing anything about a new product and then have lord Jobs spectacularly reveal it to us.
