Howard Stern digs his iPad
Oh, my.Yeah, we know...another "celebrity x enjoys his/her iPad post" is hardly riveting reading, but this story is worth a mention. Any long-time Stern fan knows that 1.) He dislikes Apple and 2.) He's adverse to new tech gadgets. Unless he's pimping Sirius/XM hardware, you won't hear much fanboy gadget-gushing from Howard (he famously clings to Lotus Notes for much of his tech-based communication).
This week on the show, he talked about the 64GB 3G iPad he received as a gift from Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. Calling it "pretty cool," Howard mentioned reading the New York Times with it and taking screenshots of his wife, Beth O, appearing on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live via the ABC Player app.
This story is less about the celebrity and more about the iPad winning over yet another unlikely customer. Good job, Apple!

Howard talked more about his ipad on the Monday May 24, 2010 show and stated that he just loves it - and this was even after he said he hasn't even set up his email on the device yet - he bragged to Robin and Fred how they should get one because it was so cool and 'just worked'
I get a little frustrating listening to them at time when they talk about the ipad or iphone because they don't have their facts straight on some things they say - but Ralph helped him get it set up and he LOVES HIS IPAD.
Bug report tester for iPad needed. If you qualify you can keep the iPad.http://bit.ly/bKZfxe

Oh, and one of the many reasons why I stopped listened to Stern was cuz he kept on having tech expert Jeff Jarvis on, whose answer to EVERYTHING is Google this, Google that, despite it not being the solution to whatever problem Stern is having at the moment. In fact, the only reason why Stern even had the guy on and backed his shit up was cuz he admitted to being a techno dumbass (which in itself is not the worst thing in the world, but automatically puts into question anyone he endorses).
And has he complained about the shit AT&T reception? He hates them to death, though the reasons are valid.
I've also long entertained the idea of calling him up and explaining why you can't get his show via the Sirus XM iPhone app like he keeps wondering (answer: his own company killed that idea), but I'm fairly certain that I won't get through.
Baba Booey! (can't believe I was the first)

May 21 2010 at 2:41 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWho cares about Howard Stern? He's a moron whose only method for garnering listeners is to put up sleaze and trash.
If TUAW is going to start mentioning everyone who likes Apple products, at least they ought to mention people who count for something. If, on the other hand, they're going to start mentioning porn stars and trash media hosts like Stern, I'll avoid this site altogether. After all, I don't care what the publisher of Hustler thinks, nor do I care what Stern (scumbag personified) thinks.

Apple has officially cancelled the "Get a Mac" ad campaign. Why? Because they want you to Get an iPad now. It's the next generation of computing, and Apple wants to stay ahead of the curve.
Apple is also gearing up for the new Macs this fall. They don't want people complaining that the add induced them to buy a Mac and then a short time later Apple introduced a brand new model.
I believe it was announced that the new Mac will be an A upgrade.
I got one for my birthday the first of the month. I thought it was a bit 'short', but that wasn't a problem. Now if I use another PC, I get the feeling the mouse is huge!
Once I got BTT then the 'real' MM shines.
Also I absolutely love the fact that I am no longer limited as to where I place my finger(s) to scroll or click. I can't understand why some people say they have problems with their wrist. I have pretty large 'man hands' and I find the scrolling and clicking to be much easier than the old mouse.
Sorry about that post about the Magic Mouse! I logged in using 1Password and it had kept that comment in there.
