One of tomorrow's announcements? iPhone HD (Update - it's a fake)
Pursuitist also notes that the device will be offered in all white and all black, although the Moscone photo appears to show the phone in a rainbow of colors. Other features include a front-facing camera with video chat and an upgrade to iChat, better battery life, a camera with higher resolution (and a flash), and advanced apps management and multitasking with iPhone OS 4.0.
Of course, this could be a last-minute "leak" to throw off all of us bloggers, but the consensus seems to be that the new iPhone will carry the iPhone HD moniker. Only during tomorrow's WWDC keynote will we know for sure.
Update: As numerous commenters are noting, the photo we're showing above has apparently been around for awhile. We receive so many faked images every day that it's sometimes hard to keep 'em straight. Sorry!

This is why tuaw is no longer in my RSS reader (heard about the article from TWiT). tuaw is so trigger happy to post anything that a 7 year old can draw a rectangle with a crayon and if I sent it in claiming it was the next iPhone, they'd post it.
June 07 2010 at 11:17 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyFake or not, iPhone HD is still the best bet for the new iPhone's name. iPhone 4G is *extremely* unlikely because it's not going to be 4G capable; using the 4G moniker would simply create customer confusion.
Since the larger screen size is almost guaranteed at this point, and it'll most likely have HD video recording to keep up with competition, the "HD" moniker seems most appropriate.
Also, John Gruber, who has a knack for letting slip inside knowledge, has been referring to it as the iPhone HD.
Wow, the article now looks terrible...full of edits, crossed out text, etc...my as well delete it as its clearly a stupid post :/
My local newspaper seems to report better Apple info than TUAW has done lately...which is sad...I love TUAW...cmon guys, get it together - You need to get some guest writers in!
Fake Schmake - who cares. This whole 'flat edges' and new larger size makes me think it'll be akin to holding my Apple TV to my nappy head.
June 07 2010 at 12:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAfter the whole Gizmodo mess, I can't believe a reputable blog like TUAW would put up fake pix. I know they post "rumor" posts, but come on, how can we take you seriously. 99% of the post are iPhone or iPhone dev, the Mac posts are days late, I rely more on Engadget, or Gizmodo or MacWorld for real Apple news or tips.
I hope TUAW starts allocating more time and resources on real Apple news, and stop with the falk/rumor/wishlist iPhone posts.
The ad is definitely a fake. iPhone 4G seems to be the most logical name to match the company's naming conventions if it's a 4G offering, otherwise we might see something like iPhone 3GX or something like that too. iPhone HD seems to be plausible, but Apple would need to do a big bump on the screen to justify that.
June 06 2010 at 11:21 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI disagree almost entirely with your post. Until there is a 4G network to run it on, there will be no iPhone 4G. The convention you refer to, refers to the network not to the generation of phone. I think iPhone HD is much more likely a name, although I still think Apple will surprise us with it's name.
