So, okay, to clarify.... iOS 4 GM is obviously no longer a Beta release ?

It's out of Beta !

GM is a Pre-Release to a Final ! right ?

So, it's still iOS 4 GM

Note to any poor bugger spending time looking for Beta 5 ! You won't find it !

Thats because its iOS4 GM ! (aka ? alias beta5) in-cognito

i dont think iOS 4 GM will work on non registered UUID's. all GM means is that the firmware will not be different in any way than what apple released on june 24. the next change we will see will be 4.0.1.

If it is Golden Master it isn't Beta.

Golden Master like in the past was the FINAL RELEASE. This is useful for developers to make application iOS 4 compatible before the launch of new OS for all.

iOS 4 GM works on all iPhone without registered UUID in developer area.

Erica !!

Can you clarify please ?

Did you just make it up and call iOS4 GM... "Beta 5" ?

Cuz life may become confusing very soon ?

You clearly weren't looking. On the iPhone developer homepage, under the "Featured Content" section, click on "iPhone SDK 4 GM seed Release Notes" or "iOS 4 GM seed API Diffs". In both of those, the titles reference iPhone OS Beta 5.

So maybe you should do your homework before making snarky (and completely uninformed) comments, such as "..or do we just call things what we feel like now ? make it up as we go ?"

@ MC SE7EN...

So, why does Apple call it iOS4 GM ?? they don't reference it a Beta 5 GM anywhere !

..or do we just call things what we feel like now ? make it up as we go ?

If so.... I have have GM Beta 10 - iOS27 "platinum edition" running on my iPhone :-P so there ! LMAO

I see no reference whatsoever on the Apple Dev site for Beta 5 iPhone firmware !

So.. ?

Erica ?

So, Where is the Beta 5 GM download ? Give a clues where to look, all I see is iOS4 GM seed downloads :-(

I'm looking, I don't see it ?

Maybe it's just for you ? for your eyes only ?

Dev forums are offline right now too, so I can't see and pointer to a Beta 5 GM ???

Anybody have any free slots on their UDID list?

I was hoping that this one would not require registration... :(

I believe so.

It doesn't work and throws up errors with me, so I guess so. :(

Installed on my iPhone 3GS. Wow. It's actually faster than 3.1.3! Apps load faster, run faster. I swear!

Wow, I'm seeing that, its like a new phone, not that it will stop me getting the iPhone 4 though :-)

Finally, iTunes 9.2 also keeps your folders intact, yay!

I swear Apple purposely cripples the beta's, because it doesn't make sense how "iffy" the beta's are compared the the GM when there's only a similar amount of time between them.

I can't see it, but it makes me wonder if when they stagger the b1, b2, b3 etc out to us, they are actually well head of that, like we are seeing their work from several months ago despite them being a lot further down the road. That's what the difference in GM feels like!!

The next iPhone will be faster than the Mac Pro. Of course the Mac Pro then will likely be the same almost 2 year old piece of crap that Apple is currently still selling to chumps as new.

The current Mac Pros are mainly interesting as historical curiosities.

Apple is a technology company, right?

They are mainly focusing on the whole portable thing lately though...

The Mac Pros aren't crappy! I use one every day. Who cares if it can't cook a steak dinner, it boots to desktop in 20 seconds. That's amazing enough for me. And it's not even an i3, i5, or i7 processor.
