Best Buy iPhone inventory reportedly leaked

iClarified has posted what looks like iPhone 4 inventory plans for several US Best Buy locations. Stores in Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, California, and West Virginia are listed.

If these are to be believed, the black 16GB model will be most abundant (no surprise there). Most stores will receive between 10 (State College, PA) and 70 (West Kendall, Florida) units. What's most interesting is what we don't see. First, there are now white units listed. Second, we can't tell if these represent reserved units, general sale units, or a combination. With some numbers as low as 10, we're guessing these are reserved iPhones.

The iPhone 4 will go on sale in the US this Thursday, June 24th at Apple Stores, Best Buys, and Radio Shacks. We'll have lots of coverage on Thursday, so be sure to check back.

Interesting. My Best Buy (i.e. Wyomising, PA) is not listed. I wonder if the person only listed the stores that were out of stock.

I called my best buy that I pre-ordered from this morning and asked the mobile salesman all about these rumors and such... I was told that the store had 40 on order and they stopped their pre-orders at 33... I asked if I was going to get my phone and was told unequivocally "Yes, you will get your phone"... Apparently the manager is to call all ppl that pre ordered this week with instructions as to how the morning will go... I asked if I should be there early or if I can just come in when able and he told me that it would be best if I were to come before the store opens... He said at the moment he doesn't know of any special opening time for the launch but that I should expect to get all that info in the phone call from the manager... I'll be calling on the 23rd as I'm not a big believer in managers calling me back... Here's hoping...

as a best buy employee that means nothing. on order just means there has been put a request for that product. ive seen things "on order" for months. like the ipad camera connection kit, that has been in our system "on order" since ipad launch day. so this news is irrelevant.
