TUAW giveaway for 10 copies of the soon to be released BuzzVoice 3.0

BuzzVoice is an app that lets you listen to the Internet anywhere, by reading stories to you from over 1400 sources that are selectable right in the app. It's something like Pandora for blogs. We reviewed BuzzVoice some time ago when it was first released and liked it quite a lot. Some time later, it was released for the iPad making it easier to use. Now a new version BuzzVoice 3.0 (US$4.99 as an introductory price which will be raised to $9.99) is about to hit the app store with some significant new features.

Instead of being limited to a buzzcast running between 15-20 minutes. The new version will play story after story for as long as you want to listen, providing hours of spoken information. The number of sources has been increased by about 2,000 200, bringing over 16,000 sites available for your listening pleasure. To date, BuzzVoice has streamed over 2 million stories to people on the go.
Other new features include being able to reselect new sources or topics without stopping the audio stream, a trending topics feature that will read breaking news as soon as its posted, the ability to create and save topic-based buzzcasts and more. Since the developers maintain that this is a totally new and greatly expanded app, current users of BuzzVoice will not get the upgrade for free, but be required to purchase it again in the same manner as was done with Tweetie 2 .

Upon release, BuzzVoice 3.0 will work fine on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, but not be a universal app providing full iPad resolution. That should come sometime later.

Developer John Atkinson has kindly offered us 10 promo codes for BuzzVoice 3.0 to give away soon after it hits the app store.

Here are the rules:
  • Open to legal US residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
  • To enter, leave a comment telling us how and where you would use BuzzVoice 3.0
  • The comment must be left before Thursday June 24th 2010, 11:59PM Eastern Time.
  • You may enter only once.
  • Ten winner will be selected in a random drawing.
  • Prize: One free copy of BuzzVoice 3.0 (with a value of $4.99)
  • Click here to for the full contest rules.
Best of luck to everyone.

I would use that on my commute, at work, and at the gym. I keep running out of podcasts at inopportune time, but never have time to read, so this would be great.

I would use it during car rides to avoid car sickness that comes with reading.
I would use it while on my daily train commute so that I don't have to elbow strangers as I fold my newspaper.
I would use while walking from Grand Central to work so I can find out how much the world has changed in 30 minutes.
I would use it while on the treadmill because I can never really get through an article while running- I think hearing it would make it easier to multi-task.

What a great app, even if I don't win it, thanks for putting me on to it.

I would use it multitasking while gaming or surfing the web in my home. I'd probably use it for TUAW, Engadget and other sites I usually browse (if supported).

OMG, my boss would love you as I could still keep up with all latest technology news while working on my other tasks. That would somehow mean double productivity...

I would use it to listen to the latest TUAW news quietly while attending the latest opera with my wife. Quietly at least until, I heard about the new Calculator icon on the new iOS4. Yippee! Oh, oh, excuse me for interrupting.
