White iPhones "more challenging" says Apple, unavailable until mid-July

why is apple even selling white iPhones, in my opinion, there`re hideous.

I shall wait. Will iron out any bugs by than anyways.

The white ones were being made by the Foxxcom suicidal workers. The white ones will ship as soon as they hire a few new ones who are better able to take the stress.

1 more month isn't too much longer to wait, I'll hold off.

Why wait, I bet that date slips!

Just buy the black one now and buy a white one when it really is available!
By then, I seriously doubt you will much less if not more than you paid for the black one anyway. iPhone 4's won't be changing hands for less than retail for quite a few months if history is anything to go by!

This fits with the rumour that the white model will contain CDMA hardware for Verizon compatibility...

I also will be waiting for the white one. I did so with the 3GS and will do so again. It just stands out a little more from the pack.

The challenge was to decide to stall the supply in favor of getting as many of the more popular colors out the door as possible.

Problem: People don't order as many white phones and Apple's going to have a global supply surge in purchases on the new phone that will stretch manufacturing to the limit.

Solution: Don't build the white phone until the surge in demand has tapered off, and tell everyone that- um - oops - gee, these phones are hard to make.
