Comedy Central mutes "eyePhone" Futurama parody

If you saw Thursday night's new episode of Matt Groening's Futurama on Comedy Central (and let's take a moment to relish those beautiful words, 'new episode of Futurama' -- mmm, yes), you got an earful of biting satire focused on the enthusiasm of a certain company's customers and their appetite for new, shiny things. As Engadget reported, the episode was unsparing in its portrayal of a world where underpaid laborers dealt with the toxic leavings of other planets' consumerist tendencies. Ouch.

Apparently, not everyone found it amusing. As Mac|Life's Roberto Baldwin noted, one of the clips from the show on the Comedy Central website has been selectively muted; when the Mom character says "Introducing the all-new eyePhone 2.0" in the original episode, now there is silence. Wouldn't you have liked to have been an eavesdropper on that phone call.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

So you're a trademark law attorney are you? Or do you have a source for your claim?

This is at the very end of the episode right? It's more likely that the codec is cutting the final bit of audio for technical reasons that I don't know, but have always lurked and caused such mysterious audio problems many times before this. No one has cared until it was about the eyePhone.
The whole episode is a shot at Apple. Why mute the last bit?

I made a vinyl cover parody that is cool. Now I have my own MOMs eyePhone 4.

I don't feel that bodes well for Apple if they are trying to censor things like that. It's a parody! Parody is always protected speech. I'm really starting to wonder about Apple these days. This episode was pretty spot on.

Then I sugest you stay away from the internet if you don't want to "worry" about Apple. Did you ever stop to consider that Comedy Central's legal department told them to chop that bit ?

Now I don't know that facts but I don't judge until I do.

You also probably are to young to remember the days when Apple sent more C&D orders than the rest of the world combined.

So, Apple is censoring the episode? You know this for a fact? Okay, good. Now please explain why the full episode, uncensored, is available from iTunes. Show your sources.

My previous post/comment was about a entry offering Nike apparel...clearly spam. It has since been deleted.
