MobileMe iDisk app updated
Apple has updated the MobileMe iDisk app (free) with several new features, including full iPad compatibility. Now universal, MobileMe iDisk looks great on an iPad and offers full iOS 4 multitasking support. It saves its state like other multitask-optimized apps, so it'll present the last file you were browsing at launch. Also, you can open compatible documents for iBooks, Pages, GoodReader, or other apps that support the "Open in..." feature. The iPad's split screen display also makes it very easy to view documents while browsing folders.
If you have audio files stored on your iDisk, the app will let you listen to them in the background while you do other things.
MobileMe iDisk is free, but it requires a valid MobileMe account. The app was first released last year for the iPhone, and this is its first significant upgrade since last December.

The open in other apps feature is nice, but needs a bit of work. When I open a pdf, and hit the button to open in another app, it gives me 2 buttons, iBooks and Stanza. Fair enough. But next to iBooks is the Stanza icon, and there is no icon next to Stanza. After a doubletake I did manage to get it open in my app of choice, but I hope there's some sort of fix for it.

Apple needs more engineers. These are the features that should have been there since day one.
This is a fantastic update. On top of the shared editable calendars in the calendar update MobileMe is getting better and better.
Yeah, yeah, I know Dropbox and Google can do that. Dropbox isn't free after the first 2GB, and I don't like that Google looks at my junk so they can serve me adds. MobileMe just integrates with too well with everything.
I prefer using a pogoplug device, which offers internet access to as many gigabytes of docs and media as you plug into the thing.

Not for me
You succeeded in showing your dopiness.
MobileMe is much more than just an iDisk.
Check out Apple's site for the many things it does.
btw - grow up
STL, you succeed in showing your petty snarkiness.
I'm pretty sure ZuDfunck knows about the other MobileMe features. He's questioning whether this update makes them worth $99 to him. He has a lot of company.
btw - pot, kettle, black
It also won't let you view any files that are over 50Mb. Even on Wi-Fi. That was a bit frustrating. I may end up not renewing my MobileMe subscription this year. Right now the only use for it for me is the Find My iPhone, and that's really more of a insurance policy than useful anyway.

Now the I use google to sync contacts and calendars OTA and mostly use gmail over MobileMe email, (horrible spam filtering on the latter) I see little value in MobileMe.
