Angry Birds fever continues

Angry Birds
Here's one Angry Birds fan who took things to a whole new level. An industrious fan decided to recreate one of her favorite iPhone games using balls, clay, eggs, slingshots and cardboard boxes for a sort of "live" version of the popular iPhone/iPad game. I sure hope that's not a wick on the top of the big black bird ... or do I?

Meanwhile, everyone's talking about the previously-reported rumors of an Angry Birds movie. Variety recently spoke with Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio, creator of Angry Birds, where he talked about the success of the game and a short word on a probable sequel.

Add to all of this that Angry Birds is slated to hit the Sony PSP, PS3 and the Nintendo DS. Is it possible we'll get sick of all this Angry Birds-ness before it's allowed to become as big as Hed hopes? The title is certainly primes for moving in more directions, so long as Hed gets the ball rolling quickly.

You can bet Russian and Chinese government have a hand in these two funny boys and their Rovio game developers company. The Americans should make a game called Angry Commie Pigs to see who really is the angry one. That'd send those Chinese communist investments on a downward spiral really fast. It's also a complete rip-off of Crush the Castle which obviously seems to be the idea.

dont want to be the guy who pees on the parade here - but i still don't get the big appeal to this game. sure it's fun, but there have been catapult-type games in the app store for years... Crush the Castle is an example of that.

I agree. I caved in and bought the game after all the 5-star reviews.

I played it for about 10 minutes, haven't returned to it since. I mean for only .99 I don't feel bad (which is why the app store can be so successful). But I just cannot understand why people "flock" to this game.

I love Angry Birds for iPhone. But I only play it when there's an update. I blast through it, get all the stars, then totally quit until the next update. Saves time.
