Apple announces the release of iOS 4.1

During today's press conference, Steve Jobs announced the release of iOS 4.1. The new operating system for iPhone and iPod touch comes with the following features:
- High Dynamic Range photos: The phone will take three photos in rapid succession -- one at what the phone thinks is the normal image, one underexposed and the third overexposed. The image is then combined to create the high dynamic image. Mel Martin demonstrated the power of this type of program in July.
- Bug fixes including those relating to the proximity sensor, Bluetooth and the iPhone 3G.
- High-definition video upload over Wi-Fi.
- TV show rentals and purchase
- Game Center debut

As the iPhone is far from flawless as Apple created it, thousands of iPhone users have flocked to Jailbreak so as to solve all of the problems.

Will gamecenter allow cloud game saves? I have not been able to find this out, but it is the biggest feature I want. I would love to play games on iPad/iPhone and use one save and also be able to restore a device and just hook in to gamecenter to retrieve my saves.
Anyone know?
I also really hope this iphone software update actually fixes the lag time for the 3G. The only reason I didn't buy a new iphone is because of the antenna problem. I'm guessing the 'white' iphone will amazingly have no issues whatsoever.

September 01 2010 at 2:26 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYeah well I still do. Contract is up in December, but will probably wait for the successor to the 4g, because you can bet it won't have antenna issues..... So needless to say I hope this actually makes the unit as usable as it used to be!
