Unofficial iPhone launch dates for Korea, Taiwan

At long last, we have (unofficial) launch dates for the iPhone 4 in Korea and Taiwan.

In Korea, pre-orders began last month despite the lack of an official launch date. According to MacNN, distributor KT Corporation has announced that the iPhone 4 will hit store shelves on September 10th. KT's official site is a bit confusing, though; a news post says "October" in the headline and simply "September" in the body of the post. But that could be a translation error.

Meanwhile, Taiwan channels are reporting that the iPhone 4 will go on sale in that country on September 15th. Demand has been huge in Taiwan, where eager customers have reportedly placed 150,000 pre-orders since August.

Here in Taiwan, the only thing you will see iPhone 4 related is the posters in local telecommunication stores, no Apple stores here.

I 'reserved' mine on line 2 weeks ago, but was given a 'until september 9th' gab to change my reservation info, but was given no date. I even called but all they say is September. Hope its before the 29th so I can get my free bumper.

- Taiwan is allowing three carriers to carry the iPhone 4, up from just the one that was allowed thus far.

- Each carrier might only get 10k - 15k units, meaning that there will be a great shortage given the 150,000 units that have been pre-ordered.

Shouldn't that sentence be "Above is a TV ad that ran prior to the iPhone 3GS's release in Korea" NOT "Above is a TV ad that ran prior to the iPhone 3G's release in Korea"? There's video on that phone...
