Reminder: Get your free iPhone case by September 30th

Or, if you are planning to buy an iPhone 4 but haven't yet, you might want to jump on it before the month ends -- some of the cases can sell for up to $30, so essentially you're getting a nice discount if it was something you would have bought anyway. There are certainly plenty of other cases to buy, and I've been using my iPhone for the past week or so without a case at all and it's worked just fine, but September 30 is the cutoff, so make a decision by then for sure.
A better question might be when we're actually going to get the cases ordered from the app -- of course it's going to take a while to ship all of these free cases out to all of Apple's customers, but at this point I'm wondering how long after the program actually expires before Apple has sent out cases to everyone who applied for one.

Apple's iPhone 4 case program page reminds you that if you haven't jumped on the free case they're offering for the Antennagate issue,...

Anyone think this is old now?
November 16 2010 at 8:05 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyiPhones are not faulty, it's not a hardware problem. I'm using an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1 and I get all five bars all the time even if I touch (hard) the "faulty zone." I have been able to make it drop one bar but only after going into the walk-in closet behind two or three doors. And my house is made out of concrete not wood like most in the US.
Your problem is AT&T--I'm with Mexican operator Telcel--still, the case program is available here too so I ordered it and they told me it'd be here by October 15th! :S
Mine just shipped. Got the email yesterday.

Steve,
Thanks for the refund on the bumper and then sending me a free one. But I guess its a small refund because I have and will buy every iPhone lol.
I would order it. If I'd be able ti find the bloody phone. I've been trying to find one (subsidized) since day one of the Canadian launch but they're sold out everywhere. I'm on several waiting lists but I doubt I'll get the phone anytime soon. Rogers sucks.

September 11 2010 at 10:20 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI bought my iPhone the first day it was released. I downloaded and applied for a case bumper in early August (the Speck case). Never got any confirmation of my order by email, and when I subsequently went in to recheck that it went through, the app said something about that I already ordered one.
I still have yet to receive my case. Which rather bugs me because I spotted, here in Minneapolis at Microcenter, the same case for sale. So it must be available.
It is interesting to note that this means for iPhone 4s sold after the 30th of September means that it is highly unlikely that an iPhone 5 will be released before the holiday season. That and they say that the problem has affected an even smaller number of people than before. I read this as they won't be officially releasing an iPhone 4 with a covering over the "dead spot" because what's the point, it only affects a small number of people...
September 11 2010 at 3:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyGot my iPhone 4 in Canada on the Canadian launch day.
Ordered a free case that same day, and 3 weeks later, it was delivered.
I was skeptical that a case would fix the antenna issues, because frankly, I haven't really noticed any. I might lose a bar or two, but even with my palm nearly crushing the corner, I still never dropped a call.
When I got the case, I was quite surprised. Now my signal seems even better than what it was before. I used to get 4 bars in my house (2 when I death-gripped it), now it's five all the time.
So chalk this one up as a minor success for Apple. Despite their issues, it's good to see them at least partially address the problem.
