Apple releases iOS 4.2 beta for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad

We're getting reports from various sites that Apple has released the beta version of iOS 4.2 into the wild for developer testing. This is suppose to add a number of features, especially for the iPad, in the form of multi-tasking, AirPlay, folder organization, the ability to print from your iPad, and more. Developers can access the beta through the Dev Center now.
This update is scheduled to come to consumers' iPads sometime in November of this year, so devs will have a few months to tinker around with it before release.

I hope 4.2 is a solid build, so that if I get an iPad, I will be able to download what I have, and be done with it for a while.

Nothing here at all to make me get the urge to 'upgrade'. And will it degrade battery life, like the last update did on my iPod touch and was irreversible since Apple do not provide older versions to revert back to.
Sometimes I jailbreak my devise. here, everything here, you may want to know about ipad, iphone, ipod, etc.(please visit iFunia source, surprising site)
you can get 4.2 by a torrent and update it NOT restore

September 27 2010 at 3:02 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAnyone else notice that Wifi dies on the iPad Wifi only model. Was working when I first installed 4.2 beta. But when I got to work today, it won't enable any more. Keeps saying off all the time and won't scan and find Access Points..
September 16 2010 at 2:53 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYip - also having this problem. Seems like a new bug with iOS 4.2 for the iPad wifi only model. Mine dies randomly just as you describe. Have to restart to reconnect wifi. It's like it just stops working for no reason.

September 16 2010 at 4:07 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYes, I'm having the same issue. I can use the 3g connection but I no longer have a view accounts option in the cellular data tab. Any luck solving it?
September 16 2010 at 11:42 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySame issue here, after installing 4.2 beta on iPad the Cellular Settings tab in Settings is missing the account data.
September 19 2010 at 12:39 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyStrange, the link to the beta is grayed out- and when following the link from the email I got from Apple I get a 404.
Is the beta not available yet for people in Europe? I am a registered iOs dev.
I haven't found any issues with iOS 4.2 beta so far. I installed it on my iPad and iPhone 4. Installing the beta without a dev account is not recommended, at least for the iPhone:

So can anyone sign up to be a developer and download this or
September 15 2010 at 4:55 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWill it WORK on a non-developer device? That would be my first question. It is no sim-locked device so is there a special protection?
