Macs popular with UK Prime Minister David Cameron

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, UK Prime Minister David Cameron described (among other things) his personal love of Apple's Macs, iPad and digital music:

"I'm very proud of the fact that I've got an iMac and I've got a speaker remotely linked without a wire which I did myself. I have all the music on the iMac. The cool thing is that I now control my iMac from the iPad, to play out through the speaker but I have to admit I had a little bit of help from someone in IT on that.

I bought the iMac for Samantha [his wife] because it's very important not to use my HoC computer for music. The best thing to do is to put all your music on to the iMac, and then you can sync iPods and iPads with it."

We've recently learned that iPads are popular with leaders in Washington, DC, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and elsewhere. What will be most newsworthy is when these sightings aren't news; just another person with his/her computer.

How are these sightings news now? Famous person A uses Mac, famous person B uses Windows, non-famous people C-Z don't really care.

Grrrr. It use to annoy me immensely when suits wanted help with their personal stuff. They would never leave you alone after that.
That's free tech support from taxpayers he's getting there for non governmental use.

Being prime minister is actually a tremendously difficult job with very long hours. I think I'd prefer he spent his free time actually relaxing, rather than faffing around trying to get his computer to work.

I'm just checking this, cause I might of misread it, but are you calling David Cameron a woman?

HoC = House of Commons. Also, the HoC computer is government issue, so will be restricted in what can be installed on it.

I'm sure that like other large tech-support teams (usually in local/central govt.), most of the HoC techies probably run a mile when they see or hear "Apple Mac" so he was lucky to find someone help him set up the iMac...

Smarmy git uses iMac? iPad? Looks like Apple products are now hitting the mainstream. No more exclusivity for us who know better.

You *really* believe buying a mac makes you exclusive? Is some 'lifestyle' thing? Please - that is so pathetic.

That was "said" with tongue firmly in cheek...

Methinks someone has had a humour by-pass.

...also...proof that macs are not computers for work but for streaming music and syncing ipods and ipads.

Kind of like how your multiple comments are "proof" that not all your lame remarks come out at once.

How?
Because he already has a windows PC set up for his HoC work?
Nothing to do with it mate.

He bought a mac for his music, because he can't put music on his work PC.
I'm sure if he had a choice he could very well have a mac for work if someone made the software or invested in parallels?
