Nike+ app upgraded with Facebook integration
Nike has updated Nike+ GPS once again, this time with support for Facebook notifications. Basically, users can request encouragement from their Facebook friends from within the app. After enabling the option to "get cheers" from Facebook, runners can start their run while the app publishes the start of the workout to Facebook. As readers choose to cheer you on, those status messages are pushed to the app itself. That way, the runner can receive notes of encouragement while they're on the road.
Likewise, the app will publish the completion of the run to Facebook (and Twitter, if enabled). It sounds like a fun way to stay motivated, if that's your thing.
Version 2. 0 of the free Nike+ GPS app is out now.

I am yet to have "cheers" actually work. I'm using it on my iPhone 4 with plenty of bars and 3G. I never once get a cheer.
Yeah, not FREE. I kept looking for the FREE version... bad info :(

And as someone else said, the app is not free.
Great way to show that you are NOT at home and make thieves life easier...

I love this app but I still haven't figured out how to activate the Powersong during a run, can someone help me?

I wonder if they listened to customer feedback and actually fixed the voice over volume that heaps of people (myself included) have been complaining about for ages?
There was a long list of issues with this app the last time I used it, only to find out from the community that it had been that way for ages and there didn't appear to be any changes forthcoming. All the forum requests for fixes were being practically ignored. I haven't used Nike+ since and that was about a year ago now.
Time to have another look I guess.
You do realize this app only recently came our right? It's barely months old - let alone a year.
