MobileMe Calendar web app out of beta

Apple has announced that the MobileMe Calendar web app is now officially out, leaving beta and becoming available to all MobileMe customers. The service allows you to check or update your MobileMe calendar from any computer or iOS device, share or publish calendars out to friends, family, or coworkers, and even send invitations straight from the calendar for upcoming events.

If you're already using the beta, of course, you don't have to do anything at all, but other MobileMe members can sign in to me.com/calendar, and click "Upgrade Now" in the lower left. There's nothing super new here (there are certainly lots of other ways to do these kinds of things using MobileMe and other free services), but having what was previously in beta open to all customers is a nice benefit.

I followed the directions exactly, Mr. Hamilton, and I'm betting many others have too.
Once I re-did the calendars' colors in iCal, they restored everywhere else, too, except for on my iPad. Curiously, changes I make on the calendar on my iPad don't seem to be transferring back, either. Is the MM update ignoring (or just not working well with) non-iOS4 devices? My iPhone 4 worked perfectly with the updates, but the iPad just doesn't seem to be keeping up.
I'm also out of space for apps on the iPad... the update can't come soon enough.

it's not exactly universal if it only works with 'OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.4 or later..."

Anybody else "lost" all his events older than 2 or 3 months ? I did get an alert dialog during the migration telling me that only recent events were being migrated and than older ones would be in an hour or so, but it's been more than 12 hours and still nothing...

My calendars disappeared from iCal and iPhone after upgrade, but I managed to fix it. This is how:

I followed the instructions provided by Apple at:
http://help.apple.com/mobileme/interface/index.html?lang=en#mm281e1ba0

There were no surprises. It's working with my Mac's, iPhones, and the iPad.

There were no duplicate entries, no color changes, and all of my calendars, appointments and schedule appear to be in perfect order.

Good Show Apple.

Oh fantastic... MM decided to take it upon itself to overwrite all my color coding for all my various calendars. Geee thanks for the 'upgrade.'

Watch out if you use spanning sync to sync iCal with google. The new MobileMe calDAV calendars are read only to spanning sync, so nothing will be synced in that direction. (unless it was fixed today)

Wat? I don't get it. MobileMe has always had the calendar web app. You said there's nothing new with it right? So....ah.....I don't get what's new or different from before or why it was a beta before if nothing changed.

From what I can tell, it's basically got a slicker interface, and it now utilizes the CalDAV standard, which allows for better handling of sharing, invitations, etc.

I still don't understand why we can't access the web app from an iPad? I have friends and family that routinely want to just check something on their MobileMe calendar or mail and can't. Unless I add their entire account, and then delete it after they are done.

On the other hand google builds an custom iPad web app for their mail and calendar services. Explain that one...

Anyone had this sync with the iPad? For some reason, it works on the iPhone but not on the iPad. :(
