The first Presidential iPad autograph?

At a recent rally at the University of Washington in Seattle, President Obama signed a well-wisher's iPad. As far as we know, this is the first presidential autograph captured with an iPad.

Sylvester Cann attended the rally with Adobe Ideas running on his iPad. He tells TechCrunch that at first the Secret Service were hesitant, but eventually relented, while the President thought the idea was "cool." He proceeded to "draw" his signature with is finger.

Autograph collection is a fun pastime for many, and Mr. Cann certainly has a unique one.

What a goofy assed signature. Why am I not surprised?

Now I can cut and paste Obama's signature on anything. How about a nice new ACTA treaty...

Reminds me of when I got (Apple Master) Laurie Anderson to autograph my Newton back in 1994...

I particularly liked the note you had about beaming the autograph when you upgraded. NOW I want to do that with my iPad - if I upgrade - autograph moves too. Very brilliant sir!

Why do you say it might be worth something on Nov 3rd? The only thing Nov 3rd might change is whether the Democrats have a majority in one house of congress or two. How does that affect the value of an iPad?

I guess he's going to be disappointed when he doesn't see a candidate for president on the Ballot. Probably was hoping for Sarah Palin.

KEEP THE COMMETS ON TOPIC. If you want to discuss politics, go to Daily Kos.

The constitution doesn't make it explicit that you're only natural born if you have TWO american parents. One parent has been good enough in the past (there is legal precedent that children with a single American parent are considered natural born Americans) so why should that not hold with Obama? Because he's black and you don't like him? Unfortunately that reasoning doesn't hold up unless you're a wingnut.

You could, but it'd wipe off pretty quick. Hand-grease would be more common handling the iPad on the back, and it degrades Sharpee pretty quick.

My first iPhone was signed by Woz. Had to touch-it-up a couple of times before I upgraded because of this. I'd worry about it, if I ever sold the phone, but I won't - so I don't.
