iPad officially debuts in Nordic countries tomorrow

The iPad continues its march towards world domination. A number of TUAW readers and the Swedish Apple site Alltommac.se are reporting that the iPad will finally make it to authorized Apple resellers in Sweden tomorrow.
It also appears that iPads will be warming hearts throughout the Nordic countries of Norway, Finland and Denmark tomorrow as well. Confirmation of the launch has been forthcoming from official Apple sources as well as from resellers, many of whom are reported to be planning special early store openings tomorrow to feed the frenzy.
The largest Apple retailer in Finland, Humac, ran teaser ads this morning saying that "morning coffee is one reason to come visit Humaciin on Tuesday," with a tell-tale iPad-shaped coffee stain on the ad.
No pricing information has been forthcoming from any of the retailers at this time.

No, the swedish and norwegians don't hat eachother, but we do have jestful puns towards eachother, we crack jokes like "Q: How do you sink a norwegian submarine? A: You knock on the door", the funny thing is that they crack very similar jokes towards us in sweden, sweden and norway are the countries that are the closest to eachother in terms of culture and language and I never experienced any hostilities towards us from the norwegians and the danish, the finns are a bit cold towards us sometimes, but that's partly due to the swedish talking finns are regarded by some of the other finns as "upper class" even though it's not really true anymore, but we rummaged around there pretty wildly many years ago.

Do you also accuse your parents of lacking imagination when your brothers and sisters look like you?
We're family, we're historically Christian, we were *one* nation.
Last I checked the Norwegian hated the Swedish. The Swedish don't understand a word of what the Danish are babbling about, and the Danish are to drunk to care. Also, who cares about Finland, like seriously?

We're family, friends, neighbors, of the same mind politically (in general terms). Good natured competition is all we "fight" over. There is no more peaceful, stable and wealthy region of the world.
Norwegians don't hate Swedes, speaking as a Norwegian. We would gladly do anything to help eachother. Attack Sweden and we'll gladly fight to defend our neighbors! Travel abroad and we Scandinavians stick together.
The language issue is a modern "problem", English has long since overtaken our common understanding of Scandinavian languages.
The Swedes might have a slightly harder time understanding Danish, it's not an absolute truth though. Swedes and Norwegians understand eachother better, and Norwegians understand Danish with few problems. While Finnish is not a Scandinavian or Indo-European language.
The youngest generations are less able to understand Scandinavia languages, we all speak English now because of schools, pop culture, TV and the Internet, but we still understand eachother *culturally*.
Uhh it's common for countries to use the same designs or the same color palettes, just look at the slavic countries or all the west african countries

The Danish Flag is the worlds oldest, and since Denmark, Sweden and Norway share a common ancestery, and Finland was a part of Sweden, they kind of look the same and we all understand eachother. Well, atleast Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
November 29 2010 at 1:07 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe Danish flag is the oldest flag in the World still in use, that's original if you ask me.

At least they changed the colors!
A little South also is reported to launch in Portugal also tomorow.
actually a Danish retailer/newspaper posted this ad one day to early:
