Apple lists top iPhone, iPad apps of 2010

As we reported earlier, Apple has highlighted the best of iTunes from 2010. Their showcase reveals their picks for the best movies, music, podcasts, audio books and apps for the last 12 months.

For those of you who don't want to scroll through iTunes' rather cumbersome app navigation system, BoyGeniusReports has compiled easy to read lists of the top ten iPhone/iPod touch apps in the "free," "paid" and "grossing" categories, as well as the top ten iPad apps in the same categories. Unsurprisingly, some version of Angry Birds showed up in all but one of the six categories.

MLB.com At Bat 2010 was one of the best Apps I got. During the race for the playoffs, I was living in Arizona, and my team is the Colorado Rockies. With MLB.com At Bat 2010 I was able to watch every game even though we ended up missing the playoffs. This year I am back in Colorado and with my DISH Remote Access app I can watch live TV right from my iPhone. I have had this app since the day it came out since I work at DISH. It is a must have for any sports fan.

I'm surprised PvZ wasn't in the top 10 paid apps (although it was in the top 10 grossing apps)for the iPad...that game feels like it was made for the iPad from start to finish.

I never really liked Angry birds but yes, PvZ should have been the top notch. Most of the peole I know were (or still) drooling on killing those brain-eating blokes. For productivity, I am still into this free task management app Intuition (www.iconapps.com).

@Dave... re the P vs Z... oh I agree!! And anyone notice the top 10 paid apps are games, um, iPhone a productivity tool, I think not :)

Most games are cheap, productivity tools are rather more pricey and you have several with same functionality... I think there should be separate category for games and non-games - would be more meaningful...
