Yet another "iPad 2" case surfaces

Hot on the heels of today's first leaked iPad 2 case comes the second leaked iPad 2 case (which I'm sure will be followed by a number of "leaked iPad 2 cases" over the next few months). Like the earlier case, this second case features a hole in the upper-left (when viewed from the back) corner. Presumably this hole is where the rear-facing camera will be located.

This second case also features a much larger speaker slot. Of course, that larger speaker slot could turn out to be a combined SD card/speaker slot, or some other type of interface. Chinese manufacturers have a pretty good track record for building cases early, so while, of course, this should all be taken with a grain of salt, it's just more evidence that we'll see another iPad soon.

I've never commented, but have been a long frequent reader and I couldn't believe the lack of imagination here. In Apple's own words "the iPad is magical," also "beyond one's capacity to understand how it works." So wouldn't this patent description explain the lack of a front-facing camera hole in the 'iPad2' case:

I know it won't happen, but maybe they'll move the dock connector to the corner with the cut out? Then you could make a dock easily for portrait or landscape viewing. But that would LOOK just a little bit ugly.

Maybe they've had enough demand they'll just include an SD card slot... they're on Macbooks, why not iPads... it's the most common camera format and it makes getting stuff into all those neat iPad apps SO much easier.

Please don't wrap your iPad 2 in this ugly-ass case, per favor.

Perhaps they have incorporated a stand into the device?

It's probably either card reader or the little door that kicks down for your ports on old Macbook Air.

I agree it is for a flip out door that will have USB port and maybe SD card reader.

"Grain of sand"?

The idiom is "grain of salt."

The main reason to have a rear-facing camera is that, since the controls are going to be on the screen, it would be a hassle to shoot anything but yourself with a screen-side camera.

If you have to turn the iPad to face the other way to take a picture, how are you going to touch the spot to focus on, or adjust the zoom, etc? How are you going to see the preview of what's actually going to be photographed?

A rear-facing camera on an iPad makes little to no sense. I just can't see people holding it up to take pictures with it. (For one thing, an iPad is heavy, and that could lead to way too many shaky pictures). Even for FaceTime, I don't see many people holding up their iPad to utilize a rear-facing camera the way they would an on an iPod Touch/ iPhone. Most users would probably have the thing sitting on their lap.

Um...folks, it's "heels" not "heals." As in, "Hot on the heels of..." (Think of dogs nipping at the heels of the one being pursued.)

I'm not sayin, just sayin'...

The new hole in back could be for a flip-out foot, so that it can stand up. In that spot, it could probably work in either portrait or landscape orientations.
