Apple seeking photo software expert for iPad

A job listing on Apple's Jobs site (and by that we mean careers, not Steve) asks for an iOS photography software engineer specifically to work on "the Mac and iPad platforms," fueling more speculation that a future iPad will likely have a camera built into it. This is far from a confirmation -- in fact, the job ad mentions that the position will tackle "text rendering and editing and HTML generation for publishing and viewing photo based content," so it could be a position working on a viewer for web-based photos, or some sort of official photo editing app on the iPad itself, not necessarily involving taking pictures with the device.

But it certainly does seem logical that we'll see a camera on the iPad eventually -- even if the use case is a little different than a phone you always have with you, the iPad would certainly benefit from being able to see the world. Even the Mac has an iSight on it, so if nothing else, we can hope for a camera like that.

Phony ads? If the ads is now, then the iPad 3 will have cameras.

I think it's logical to assume it'll be iPhoto for iPad/iOS at the very least.

I feel like this probably for iPhoto on the iPad. They brought iWork to it, maybe they'll bring some of the iLife apps as well... It only makes sense.

If this position is only just now being posted, this will be for next cycle's apps, not the iPad2. Any basic work on that hardware is done. Or for the iPhone 5; most of the work for that better be on the last month or so of finishing.
