Verizon iPhone now available for pre-order
Once the Apple Store came back up, the biggest change was that iPhone pre-orders are finally available through Apple. Oddly enough, pre-orders were available through Verizon's site about 15 minutes before the supposed "switch throw" time of 3 AM Eastern, and we know of at least one customer who had a completely seamless order experience.
We have at least one TUAW writer who's been up all night awaiting pre-order availability, and we'll have a post about the pre-order experience later on. Meanwhile, if you've been waiting for the Verizon iPhone, your wait is finally over ... well, the wait to order one, anyway, as the handset will be delivered by February 10. Existing Verizon customers can order now, and everyone else can order starting February 9.

Ordered mine quick nd easy, got the order number.. but still no email :/ iordered it at 11:58 nd ended bout 12:05.. i'm actually worried that it didnt go through.. help :/ ?

February 03 2011 at 4:34 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyFor anyone out there that has been trying to do Verizon's checkout in Firefox, that might be the reason for any hiccups or error messages.
I had been trying for the past hour to get it to accept my address on the billing/shipping page. I would get the same message as another poster: "Shipment Address is invalid. Please correct it." It also had a random third form at the bottom. Nothing would go through. I just tried it in Safari... worked right away. No error messages and the mysterious third form disappeared.
Just a tip for anybody else out there that's been having a similar issue.
Yeah - but I had that problem with Safari and not Firefox! What the...?
Oh well. It worked in the end, and I got my "your order is being processed" email and everything.
Ordered mine through Apple since Verizon didn't like my password for some reason. (I use 1Password and have had a Verizon Wireless online account forever.) Only glitches on Apple were that I had to use my Verizon PIN though it asked for password. Also, didn't get the $50 discount for the new-every-two Verizon promotion. I'll need to figure that out.

Final confirmation screen provided me with "your pending order confirmation number is:..." and "your credit review status: pending." Its almost an hour later, and I haven't received an email confirmation and when i sign back into Vz account, it doesn't show me any way to check status or indicate i've placed an order. Anyone get this message too, and do you think it means my order isn't complete??
well, if I'd been more patient! :) Literally JUST received my confirmation email from Vz. My "pending conf #" is now my order reference number. Was getting worried at first b/c some ppl were receiving confirmation emails almost immediately.
YAY- i can go back to bed now! :) AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT! :) :)
AM NOT ABLE TO ORDER! I AM USING VZW GIFT CARDS AND THERE IS NO OPTION TO PAY VIA GIFT CARD!! UGH! I actually considered getting a prepaid Credit Card but the douches at VZW both in the store AND on the phone said I could use a gift card! UGH!! Anybody help? ill give you my gift cards if you charge it to your card. HELP!!!

I considered going though Apple, but remembered the $50 credit from Verizon. No sense in not using it.
Im so mad ive beeen up since 2;30 trying to order and i guess the site crashed. Does anyone know know when it should be back on?

Does this mean the phone will be at our door on the 10th, or that they will ship the phones out of the warehouse on the 10th? I wasn't sure about that, and nobody I know had ever ordered an apple product online. Anyone know? Thanks!
February 03 2011 at 3:33 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'm trying to order, both through Verizon's website and through apple.com, and both say that my account has a past due balance, but yet on Verizon's website, it says that my account balance is -$1... meaning Verizon owes me money and not the other way around.
If I don't get my Verizon iPhone on launch day due to some technical glitch, I'm going to be upset.
I'd call up customer services right now. Tell them that your account is fine and you should get your phone but the webpage says different. Oh yeah, just to let you know, you can still owe this month's bill and get an upgrade. as long as it's not owed, but due, you are fine! (mine has -.87 on my account. just payed $530 to them last week lol
