March 2 Apple event confirmed, revised iPad anticipated

The word has gone forth -- invitations to Apple's upcoming product briefing, first reported by Kara Swisher at AllThingsD, have begun to arrive in the mailboxes of Mac-centric press and pundits. All signs point to the introduction of the iPad 2 at the 10 AM (Pacific) event.
Stay with TUAW between now and next Tuesday Wednesday for the latest!

I stopped when I came to this question:
What would influence you to buy Nokiaâs/RIMâs/Windows or Android based phone? (Select at least 3)*
⢠Please select at least three
⢠Improvement of UI (User Interface)
⢠Improvement of hardware
⢠Improvement of the app store (interface, usability etc)
⢠Improvement of the app purchasing process
⢠General improvement across all apps
⢠More security
⢠I would never buy from them as I donât like their brand
⢠Other, please specify:
My answer would be:
⢠I would never buy from them as I donât like their brand
Under the circs, how do I choose another two options?
I was thinking that too, but I suppose it might not mean as much if he's just looking at the "why" and not the "what."
February 23 2011 at 1:31 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyPlease.....please.....multi-user support!!
February 23 2011 at 1:11 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHonestly, if this is all that Apple announces I'll be content. How was this overlooked? It's clearly not a single user device like the iPhone is.
And when you set up mail and calendar on it, it is sort of like planting a flag and claiming it for yourself-Despite it being a household device.
Apple doesn't want everyone in the family to share one iPad...
Think about it:
Without multi-user support everyone in the family would have to get an iPad.
$499 for mom.
$829 for dad.
$599 for son
$699 for daughter.
Thats equal to $2626. Jackpot.
But, if it wasn't multi-user support...
$829 for family.
So, yeah, I don't think Apple is the kind of company that would want to lose $1797 just to add that feature. There is only one company that actually care about their consumers and we all know who that is...... Nintendo.
So if the announcement was on the 2nd when could we actually buy the new ipad? Next Day?
February 23 2011 at 1:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replydon't know.
Perhaps it will be the next day. Perhaps not.
Perhaps next day for the wifi only and the 3g will be coming a little later because they need the sign off by the FCC (which would leak things anyway)
Perhaps online orders will start the same day but wifi or whatever won't be in the stores for a few days.
All are possible
WOAH. Come see what this will be the year OF?
Way to end a sentence in a preposition.
That is the sort of thing up with which I will not put

Won't you get at huge bias by advertising on a site with all things Apple?
February 23 2011 at 12:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySo where are we in the rumors I forget. 7in model, widgets, comes with a stylus,CDMAandGSM and I believe a pizza maker. I just want SMS-MMS because I alway's seem to grab mine when I leave my phone elsewhere and I hate all the text apps they suck.
February 23 2011 at 12:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt's funny, they aren't even hiding it. That's clearly an iPad in the invite picture.
February 23 2011 at 11:50 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyFor the first time in recent history, I was finally going to have a large open block of time to watch the announcement live. Over the past few semesters, I always had a class right at 1:30PM EST on Wednesdays, meaning I only saw the first 30 minutes of the event. This semester, my Wednesdays are wide open!
So they go and have the event on a Tuesday at a time when I'm in class. I'm on to you, Apple.
Interesting that the wallpaper is another water droplet based image, remember which default wallpaper accompanied the iPhone4 retina display launch? Yes...
February 23 2011 at 11:23 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyLooks like the same one to me. It was the default on iOS 4 iPads as well.
February 23 2011 at 11:25 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySorry, but the water droplet background came with iOS 4 and multitasking.
