iPad 2 now available online

Originally ordered mine at 3:45a EST on Friday morning via apple.com. Then went to the local Apple store here in NJ at 4p. I was at approximately 225 in line. Left at 7p with the iPads I wanted. Cancelled orders from apple.com. Line had extended to well over 300 and continued though shorter when I left.

Ordered mine at 10:50 PM last night. I'm in Hawaii so I was able to order it on the 10th ; ). For those who didn't know, IP2's were up on the apple store before the advertised 1:00 AM Pacific (11:00 PM Hawaii). Got in early enough that my confirmation shows ship in 3-5 days (arrival Mar 18-25). Almost forgot to place my order with all the tsunami craziness last night, thankfully not much damage here! Two of the three Apple retail stores we have are in the tsunami inundation zone.....imagine if we got hit bad.....I'd be watching for cases ofiPad2's floating down the street!!!

ordered the white 64gb ipad and 2 covers at 1:01am, 1 min. after they started taking orders. the covers said 1-3 business, delivery between mar 15-17. The ipad said 3-5 business days, delivery between mar 18-25. Free shipping only no option for speedy delivery. also no option to finance.

LOL! I keep double-tapping the space bar, trying to put a period!

My previous experiences with the Apple store is just that, they are very conservative on the shipping estimate. My son's iPod arrived much earlier than estimated. My original iPad same thing, it arrived early and shipped expedited with Sat delivery.

My order was 1:10 PST - just received the email confirmation.

3-5 days shipping is to be expected. Imagine how many orders will be coming in today. I really don't think their shipping department is fast enough that they can keep up. And I personally would rather wait a few days for my iPad than deal with the trip to the store, waiting in line, and risk coming home empty-handed anyway, when the guy in front of me takes the last of the model I wanted.

Plus, with my workplace's web store, I deliberately set ETAs to be higher than what I think it'll actually be. Better to say I'll have something available in 1-2 weeks and it's likely to ship in 4-5 days and have happy customers when they get their stuff earlier than expected.

Ordered mine at 3am PST, delivery estimate March 22 - 29 ! No engraving, I never get anything engraved with a view to resale.
