Erase the social network past with Last Night Never Happened

Let's be honest: We all enjoy a good night out on the town occasionally, and when fun happens these days, chances are you might say or post something on various social networks that you probably shouldn't, be that something negative about your boss or your ex, or just a little too much information about your current state of mind. Now there's an iPhone app that purports to deal with exactly these lapses in judgement.

Last Night Never Happened is an iPhone app that, when given access to your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts, will delete or replace any social network postings that you happen to regret. The app will go back up to 48 hours, and as you can see in the demo, will clear out any photos, tweets, or Facebook posts you need to delete, optionally replacing them with a much nicer message.

Unfortunately, the app doesn't do any more than Twitter or Facebook, so all of those OK Cupid messages you sent are there to stay. And according to the fine print on the app, it doesn't do Facebook's status updates either, so you'll have to go deal with those yourself. But if you often find yourself regretting messages you sent and posted the night before, Last Night Never Happened may be able to help. It's $1.99 on the App Store right now.

Are you saying that you don't enjoy a good night out on the town, as in you do go out on the town but don't enjoy it, or just that you never go out on the town?

Either way, your reply made me feel sad. Everyone should go out on the town and get drunk, fall asleep in Piccadilly Circus and then wake up with a complete stranger wearing a police uniform. And enjoy it! At least once, anyway.

I never go out on the town, since I don't drink (not at all, and I never have) and find drunk people disgusting I find it pretty pointless for me to go out. I have fun in other ways, so there's no need for you to feel sorry about me. :)

Well, most probably Google already indexed your twitter stream and friends on Facebook are aware on your opinions on them already. I better stick with an app like DrinkControl: http://drinkcontrolapp.com and stay cool.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Facebook include the full text of your messages in the email notifying you of said message? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of this?

Seems like an extremely limited use case to me.

Is there an app that will completely delete everything i ever posted on FB, especiall on "pages" of companies etc? Because they can be seen by others even if my account is set to very private settings? Or is there a non-app way to do this? I would like to keep my pictures, but if there is only a solution that deletes EVERYTHING (but the account) it would maybe also be ok. But I would prefer only posts.

I just have to ask, what type of person gives their boss and/or ex unfettered access to their social network accounts? Seems like if you do, you deserve what you get.
