Report suggests 64 GB, 3G iPad is top seller
The 64 GB Wi-Fi + 3G model is the most popular iPad 2 model according to market research firm Context. The top-of-the-line model accounted for a third of all iPad 2 sales in Western Europe. The runner-up in this sales race is the entry-level 16 GB Wi-Fi only model, which grabbed 22 percent of all iPad 2 sales. Combined, these two models account for more than half of all iPad 2 sales in the region.
Overall, Apple was, once again, the dominant tablet with 80 percent market share in the opening quarter of 2011. Context mobile computing analyst, Salman Chaudhry predicts the iPad will remain #1 in Western Europe, but will face increasing competition from Android tablets. The Android effect is already taking its toll on iPad sales -- according to Context, Apple's tablet dropped five percentage points from Q4 2010 to Q1 2011.

I have iPad 1 64 wifi / 3g not sure if the wifi version would not have been better! Next iPad I buy will probably be another 3g again. The extra space is a plus and 3g is useful too! All in all, I'm glad with my choice.
May 12 2011 at 12:18 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySo, when do we get a 128GB or 256GB iPad?
I bought iPad 1 32GB wi-fi to see if I liked it and how I'd use it. Now that I've figured out how I'd LIKE to use it, I want more memory in the thing. 64GB is not enough!
iPad2, 64GB, 3G model here.
My first since I skipped iPad1
One sister and mother each have the 32GB WiFi only iPad1
The other sister just received the 32GB WiFi only iPad2 for mudders day.
These were all choices, not-the-choosing, of what was in stock.
This may add fuel to those who stereotype iPad owners as rich snobs because of the $829 price tag. I'm not surprised that a 3G model is selling the best, but I wouldn't have bet on it being the 64GB model.

May 11 2011 at 1:52 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySince they sell every unit they produce this only means that they made more of these than the other units doesn't it?
May 11 2011 at 12:21 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replysure... but I would assume they base their production on demand.
May 11 2011 at 12:39 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyPeople realize they gotta get as much as they can.. Especially upgraders from smaller models. I know I will be getting the biggest one I can afford. I have filled my 8GB with music and apps... I don't have room for any bigger games or any videos. 64 GB might take more than a two weeks to fill.

Yes, I think I can figure out from q1 2011 that it probably is the ipad2, before you go trying to make me look like an idiot. Still, it could be the discounted model, couldn't it?
