TiVo app now supports iPhone, series 3 DVRs

Tivo has finally released its DVR app for the iPhone or iPod touch, a new version that offers many of the features of its bigger iPad cousin. The iPhone version lets Tivo users manage their recording schedule, browse throughout content and control their DVR easily from their phone. The app also supports both the newest Tivo Series 4 models and the older Series 3 DVR. The only thing missing on the iPhone is the ability to flick to watch content. This streaming part of the application is only supported on the larger screen of the iPad.
The now universal application also includes a handful of bug and speed fixes that appear on the iPhone and iPad version. Both apps are in the App Store now and available for free.

Wait, the iPad app has the ability to stream from the TiVo? When was that added, and how does one activate it?

I downloaded the iPad version (it looks slick) and connected to my non-premiere Tivo series 3 DVR. I could change channels, use the guide both on the TV through the network controls on the iPad and on the Tivo app's built in guide.
Everything worked fine until i started to manipulate my season passes to add the new Torchwood series. For some reason it still held my old season pass (which had already been deleted due to a move and all new channels) and gave me fits when trying to update it through the app. Yet the on screen season pass editor still worked both with my remote and the remote built into the app. Another issue I have is searching for a show. Give me the option to limit it to show titles, as opposed to searching "torchwood" and everything comes up including Dr. Who episodes which reference torchwood. Or let me limit by HD or channel. Since the new season is on Starz, I would have liked to limit that way. Not happy with the controls on the app at all.
On a slight tangent from your question... I still enjoy using Tivo's (on screen/TV) interface better than all the other DVRs, but I'm thinking about ditching the service. It's too expensive for what you're getting compared to what comes from the cable company which you're already paying for and not using. I use at&t's standard DVR box on my upstairs TV and can trade the cable card in my tuner back to at&t for another cable box. Thinking about it...
When are we gettin the iPad app in the UK...?
