Free iPads no longer offered with high-end Hyundai

We reported last year that Hyundai was offering a free iPad with a pre-loaded manual for everyone who purchased the new Equus sedan. Well, no more. USA Today reports that Hyundai America CEO John Krafcik says the 2012 Equus will have plain old paper manuals.

Krafcik adds that a year ago an iPad was a novelty, but no more. It's "redundant to our owner base."

Hyundai heavily promoted the iPad with a manual last April when the car was introduced. Now it's just a memory.

Well I think it's up to the buyer to decide they want an iPad or not and whether it's redundant and not a novelty. This is just bull crap excuse to lower their costs and increase profits.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.
I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.
Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://BidsFirst.com

John, we're going to be disappointed in you if you let Hyundai offer Equus buyers Samsung Galaxy Tabs instead of iPads. At any moment there just might be an injunction against Samsung iPad clones in the US to match the injunctions in Australia and the European Union...

Does that mean they will drop the price by $1000? You know they had to jack up the price by like $1000 just because they can!

Good point @Adrian....and actually the prices have come down a LOT. When I got my 2009 MacBook Pro it was $2600 and the current equivalent is $2200. The Macs are overpriced is so irrelevant now. Factor in resale value and a MacBook is far cheaper than a PC.

Plus Total Cost of Ownership is less. I sold an original MacBook Air for $800 when it was 3 years old. How many Windows Laptops can sell for $200 at that age?
