You can use BD-R, all you need is to buy a blu-ray burner, like http://www.lacie.com/us/products/range.htm?id=10058 or http://www.buffalotech.com/products/optical-drives/mediastation/mediastation-8x-external-blu-ray-writer/

You can also RIP and play a Blu-ray movie with http://www.makemkv.com/

That is as non sequitur as suggesting buying a PS3 to watch them. The fact is the Mac does not have a player, as you point out, you need to rip it first and that by the way requires a lot of space and time.

You can't play Blu-ray on a Mac (nor can you use BD-R which by the way is only $1 per 25GB which is great for back-up/storage).

Old news. According to the listing I see in the App Store it was last updated almost two weeks ago, on August 4, and the change log for that update lists iPhone compatibility being added way back then.

I thought it was a pretty lame app, actually. Maybe I'm just not a big enough Star Wars fan? But I'm a big enough fan that I got my pre-order in as soon as pre-orders were being taken...
