Another World coming to iOS this month

Eric Chahi's classic game "Another World" (also known as "Out of this World," from its US release) is finally coming to iOS at the end of September. BulkyPix will be publishing the title, and controls will come in two flavors, either as full touchscreen controls or through a virtual D-pad. Fans of this game really love it, and will probably be happen to see it finally available on Apple's portable devices. The title will be US $4.99, and available as a universal app.

I always found the game really hard, but that problem could be fixed (or worsened, depending on your preference): This version of the game will provide both easier and harder difficulty levels, as well as remastered sound, and full Game Center achievement support. We'll have to see what the game is like when it comes out on September 22nd.

I don't recall it being that hard, it required precision and knowing what to do, but it was just a matter of dying a couple (ok a lot) of times before moving ahead.

I just love that game, there is a complete speedrun on Youtube that I watched a year ago, and it brought back so many memories...

I remember playing this game on my Apple ][gs, it was an awesome game, I believe it was first released for the ][gs then ported to the other platforms. I could be wrong!

Oo-twa! That game was evil and hard. It had an awesome opening sequence though for a 90s game.

Wow... this takes me back!

Now that I'm feeling all nostalgic... I wish there was a website that had scans of old video game magazines from the 90s.

I would really love that!

One of the only games I played were a little slug could kill you within the first minute of actual game play. I hope the people that buy it remember that this game was designed for a different generation when your computer was doing everything it could to provide the simple graphics and game play that are in this game. I tried to find a legal copy of this game a few years back and was unable at the time I would love a change to play this again since it has been a very long time.

I spent a flu stricken weekend playing this on Sega CD as a teen.
I look forward to having it in my pocket and ready to play anytime.

I remember ordering Out of This World for SNES from one of those questionable places in the back of GamePro back in the day because it was impossible to find in stores. Later, I bought a copy for DOS (even though I never owned a PC) that my friends and I installed on a bunch of computers in my high school computer lab. Such a hard game, but groundbreaking in its day. I'd really I'd love a port for Mac too.

You mean for Mac OS X? It's available for Mac OS ”Classic”.

What I'd really like to see on iOS is the game Limbo: http://limbogame.org/

Would be cool with a Mac version too.
