SiriusXM app needs updating or old version will stop working

That's a tactic that should get SiriusXM customer's attention. The new version of the SiriusXM app released this week has moved to version 1.6, but the app must be updated or the older version will stop working.

The satellite radio company says the app adds "required location awareness in compliance with new content provider policies". If the app is not updated, the older version will stop working, so to avoid any surprises it would be best to get the new version. In a past update, many SiriusXM apps lost the login information, but this version seems to protect it, so after you get the new one, and it downloads some graphics, you should be good to go.

Mine kept bugging me to update, then when attempting, via app store, I would get "Can Not Purchase" every time. I removed app. Tried again. Same behavior. Had to power down/up iPhone and then it seemed to be happy. Listening to the only reason to deal with this (cr)app = Howard! His repeats kick most of the other channel's "original" content.

This location-aware update is necessary because live NFL play-by-play is now available on the app, and Sirius XM doesn't have the rights to broadcast the games outside the US and PR.

The grammar in the headline is terrible.

Try 'SiriusXM app needs updating as old version will stop working'

Your current headline suggests the old app will continue to work, but only if you update. Which makes no sense no matter which way you turn it.

You may think this is nit-picking, but when your medium of communication is written, it pays well to be clear about the things you write.

I usually don't care about this but this headline just bothered me. The second I read it I knew it was entirely wrong. That word "or" makes it wrong, even if they said "SiriusXM app needs updating since old version will stop working" would be better.
