LOVEFiLM comes to iPad

It's rare that an iOS movie-streaming app receives little notice, but earlier this week, Amazon released the LOVEFiLM Player for iPad without fanfare. LOVEFiLM is the UK equivalent of Netflix, which allows users to rent DVDs and Blu-ray discs by post or stream them online. In January of this year, US-based Amazon bought the UK company to help cement its roll in the United Kingdom as the go-to place to rent physical or digital media.
The LOVEFiLM Player for iPad unchains LOVEFiLM members from their computers or DVD players and allows them to stream movies over a Wi-Fi connection. The app also allows customers to watch movie trailers, rate films and manage their LOVEFiLM DVD or Bluray rental queue.
LOVEFiLM Player for iPad is a free download and exclusive to the UK App Store. Membership rates that allow streaming to the iPad app start at £5.99.

Streaming has grown dramatically with in the last few years because it is simple and easy to do plus you don't have to worry about returning anything discs getting broken or scratched. And then you have other who still wants to use discs because it is easier for them to understand or that the only piece of equipment they have to use for watching movies either way I found from a co-worker at DISH that there new promotion Blockbuster movie pass has some thing for everyone! The Blockbuster movie pass allows users to stream up to 3,000 movies to their TV and 4,000 to the PC on top of a one disc rental at a time by mail for only $10/mo for existing customers! On top of Dish Online their giving customers yet another video portal to watch the best movies in entertainment plus with the disc by mail offer you have over 100,000 titles to choose from with unlimited games, TV shows, movies and blu-rays to choose from. Check this link out to see what great offers they are giving out new customers http://bit.ly/qCZSWr.

1. The quality of streaming is poor at best, it's not even DVD quality, so don't sign up hoping that you'll get a "Netflix" like service with HD options.
2. The selection of streaming content is also very thin on the ground. The chances of the film you want to watch being available are very low.
3. Cancelling is a major quest. You have to ring up an Indian call centre who'll keep you on the line as long as possible. They keep saying "we'll just process that cancellation for you." and come back 5 minutes later with "Our system says you qualify for a free rental period of 3 months", then 6 and I got offered a whole year free. I must of said no at least 50 times.
4. All of this happened last month, so Amazon has had plenty of time to sort this and they haven't.
Make that "UK and German aquivalent". Cf. www.lovefilm.de Don't know whether the app works with the German service, tho.
