Evernote Hello for iPhone records faces and contacts
Evernote introduced a new app called Hello that'll help you manage your contacts. Instead of a static list of names and addresses, Hello lets you add context to each person in your contact list. Like Evernote points out, you don't remember a person's name; you remember where you met them and what they said or did.
Evernote Hello helps you remember these little details by letting you add an image to each contact's name. You can also add encounter information, which includes the place where you met and other notes that'll jog your memory. The app links contacts with similar information, so you can easily find the contacts you met at the conference last week and discover who might be there next time.
It's tied into the Evernote family of apps and will let you search, share and sync this information across a variety of desktop and mobile platforms. The Evernote Hello app is available for free in the App Store. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments.

this app fails. it can't even do the most basic thing let you choose a photo from your gallery to use as your profile pic ( it's forcing you to take a pic)

I was expecting it to some how pull some info from my contacts to get me started.
You have to start from scratch... it gives you instruction to hand the people you meet your phone, have them fill in the details then give it back to you. Agreed, NewJorg, not gonna happen.
Hello, nice to meet you, mind if I take a photo of you and upload it to some remote server? No? Okay, just hold still for oooone second... there.
This is ridiculous.
Do you mean it's basically the same as people have been doing for ages now with the iOS address book, but with a slightly more streamlined design.
If so, then you're right.
Where does it get the photo? Does it tie into the person's social profiles, or am I expected to creepily take out my phone and snap a photo of their face upon meeting them?
