So 4S has a worse battery, and consumes more data . Seems like a down grade NOT upgrade

I just got my iPhone 4s with IOS 5.0 and i can not Jailbreak the phone, BTW i just won the phone from here if I remember correctly, getappleproductsforfree(.)com please help me with a tutorial.

Double the data usage due to Siri? Are they serious. Even if siri uses 64k MAX per message that is a hell of a lot of interactions. The report doesn't say the time frame or date of which data was gathered. Mass activations for the iphone4s, app downloads etc. But to say that 4s data is DOUBLED, i'd have liked to have seen a breakdown not some sensationalism on this.

I've definitely noticed myself consuming more data moving to a 4S from a 3GS. It's not just Siri (it's pretty limited in Canada) the increase in speed is definitely an incentive to use more data intensive apps. My 3GS would slow to crawl when using Facebook, now loading dozens of Instagram photos or Path videos is a breeze. And it definitely translates into more data usage on my part.

Okay, no. I guess they didn't factor in that many of the people who would consume a ton of data are "gotta-have-it" early adopters and have ditched their older 4 or 3GS, leaving the standard users to casually check Facebook or whatever on the older models. No big conspiracy that Siri is taking all your megabytes here.

there's an error in the article:

"Cloud-based services like Siri are widely expected to boost growth of data usage, which will be an issue until more efficient and speedy LTE networks become more widespread worldwide."

Should read:

...which will always be an issue in the USA thanks to our greedy carriers that apply punitive data caps in order to prevent us from using the service that we pay for.

If you think Verizon and AT&T will suddenly let you use more data just because they have more capacity, you're dreaming. Although they'd be happy to sell you more data at double the price, of course.

It's because we have dual cores in our 4S. We can consume data twice as fast, so we do ;-p
