iPhone 4S jailbreak demonstration video

The A5 jailbreak for the iPhone 4S is making excellent progress. Chronic dev team member @DHowett posted a video to YouTube that shows an iPhone 4S with an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1. The short video shows Cydia running on the handset and the phone resetting without the need to connect it to a computer.

Pod2g, who's working on the jailbreak along with @planetbeing, @MuscleNerd and@p0sixninja, confirmed the video is the real deal and hinted that the jailbreak will be released soon.

So basically this hole as already been plugged before it has even been released. You have to give to Apple, mighty fine job they are doing cracking down on this whole jailbreaking scene.

early rumors/hints indicated it was a JB that only a hardware upgrade would patch.

They would be honestly smart to wait till 5.1 is released. Unless this is some hardware based jailbreak. Otherwise Apple will just analyze it themselves and plug it up before 5.1 goes out to the public, unless they have a 5.1 waiting in the wings (based off testing with the current beta)

Just my .2 cents.

The corona untether has already been patched in 5.1.

I0n1c seemed to have something up his sleeve as far as 5.1 went though. Hopefully that one is still active. So far the only thing 5.1 brings to the table is editing photos in your photo stream, which I assume can also be accomplished on your home computer.

Hopefully they are all smart enough to analyze 5.1 to see if the hole has been plugged before they release it for soon to be outdated 5.0.1.
