App Store download cap bumped up to 50MB for OTA downloads

TheNextWeb has confirmed there is a solution to a problem a lot of developers could encounter: If the iPad were to go to a retina display (which it did), application file sizes would increase dramatically. That 20 MB limit on what you can download from the store over-the-air becomes meaningless pretty quickly, especially for universal apps; customers would be stuck with Wi-Fi for purchases.
It turns out the solution is to move the cap to 50 megabytes, up from the 20 it was yesterday. While this makes the impulse purchase easier, it also means that folks who aren't on unlimited data plans are likely to bump up against their own caps sooner than later if they like to cruise through the App Store when they aren't on Wi-Fi.
