Apple spending like drunken sailor

Apple plans to increase capital spending this year by $280 million dollars. The new campus that they are building certainly is a large factor in the increase, but they are also going to be spending a chunk of change on retail (hey, when are you opening a Philadelphia store, Apple?) as well as replacing equipment and what have you.

Apple previously estimated that it would spend $420 million on capital this year, but now thinks $700 million should fit the bill.

Tip of the Day

To get an instant map to any address, just go to your Address Book and right click on the address field of any one of your contacts and select "Map Of." The address will then be revealed in Google Maps on Safari. You can do the same if a data detector determines there is an address in an e-mail in Mail.
