Found Footage: iPhone bricked? Still useful

Because an Apple commercial isn't accepted by the Apple community until it's parodied, here you go. NeoBen on YouTube has made a short parody of the new iPhone ads-- but they're about how his iPhone got bricked with the 1.1.1 update. And how you shouldn't worry if yours got bricked, too, because there's still a lot of different things you can use it for.

(I'm told that on these video posts, I sometimes drop spoilers in the second paragraph, so watch the video before you read on.) I just want to say that while I'm impressed that he really did wedge the iPhone in the door, I'm a little less impressed by the iPhone dropping out of frame in the hockey shot. I know your secret, Ben! That iPhone's not really bricked! But the video is still funny.

NHL highlights in the iTunes Music Store

Way back in January I blogged that the NHL was close to making a deal with Apple, and it would seem the deal has been done. As of yesterday you can buy (for $1.99 each) 20 minute highlight clips of both the Eastern and Western conference Stanley Cup final games. I can only assume that the Stanley Cup games will be available as well.

Hockey widgets

If you like hockey and widgets have I got the site for you! HockeyWidgets.com, as you might suspect, specializes in a number of hockey themed widgets (though they all do the same thing). At the moment there are about 110 widgets available from a number of teams. Each widget is the jersey of the team of your choice, and it displays the current date. The clever part is that the corresponding player's name is shown on the jersey.

Show your team some love on your Dashboard.

NHL close to iTunes deal

Attention hockey fans, Kukla's Korner is reporting that Doug Perlman, exec vp of Media for the NHL, says that, 'it would be fair to say we are close,' when asked about a deal with Apple to distribute hockey games via the iTunes Music store.

Perhaps Steve will tell us exactly how close later today.

Tip of the Day

Holding the Command key (aka the Apple key) and pressing Tab will cycle through your open applications. It's easier to Cmd-Tab if you are Copy (Cmd-C) and Pasting (Cmd-V) to and from various applications.
