New iPod game - Pole Position: Remix

Pole Position: Remix was seen floating around the iTunes Store in a couple of banners last week after the Jobs keynote, but wasn't put up for download until today. This is a first for iPod games: it's a 3-D racing game. This looks like a really cool game that could keep you company on your morning/afternoon commute (please note: we do not endorse playing iPod racing games while driving). The game features un-lockable tracks, themes, and player cars.

This game is available now on the iTunes Store for $4.99. This game is compatible with iPod nano (3rd generation), iPod Classic, and iPod with video (5th generation).

Block Breaker debuts

Gameloft debuted their new iPod game called "Block Breaker Deluxe" last night on the iTunes Store. This game puts a twist on the older "Breakout" game. The game is compatible with iPod nano (3rd gen), iPod Classic, and iPod with video (5th gen) only.

"We revamped the graphics of Block Breaker Deluxe for iPod to make it the most feature-rich, action packed wall breaker game ever created," said Gameloft.

This isn't Gameloft's first iPod game, as you may recall, they have also created Brain Challenge and the LOST game. You can download the new "Block Breaker Deluxe" from the iTunes Music Store's game section for $4.99 (US).

New iPod game Musika available

Apple has released another iPod game today, Musika [iTunes link]. It's part quiz, part visualizer. Along with the magical dancing colors, Musika presents you with several characters. Select the one that's in the title of the currently playing track to advance and unlock additional features.

Or, just zone out to the visuals.

Musika costs $4.99US and requires a fifth generation iPod with software version 1.2 or later (Apple makes great pains to point out that this game will not work with an iPhone).

Tip of the Day

Use Spotlight as a reference tool. Type any word in the Spotlight box and one of the top entries will be a definition. Click on it, and it will bring up the dictionary application to check the word in either the dictionary, thesaurus, Apple database, or Wikipedia.
