Apple Plans to Open 40 New Stores in 2005

According to sources close to the company, Apple is set to expand its retail footprint significantly in 2005 with the launch of 40 new stores, marking its debut in the Canadian market. The cities chosen for these inaugural locations are Toronto and another yet-to-be-disclosed city in Quebec, possibly Montreal.

There’s also buzz around changes to the dress code for Apple Store staff.

The new policy might replace the iconic casual T-shirts with more formal collared shirts. Many, including myself, are not thrilled about this shift towards a more conventional corporate look.

It would be refreshing to see Apple draw some inspiration for its staff uniforms from creative individuals like Jared Winick, maintaining a unique and innovative brand image.
