MLB Game Highlights Now Available on iTunes Store

As the excitement for the upcoming baseball season mounts, Apple and Major League Baseball have unveiled a partnership that will bring game highlights to the iTunes Store. Fans can look forward to a daily 25-minute “MLB.com Daily Rewind” show and a weekly feature of two “Games of the Week,” which will showcase the top games from both the National and American Leagues.

These full game replays will be available for $1.99 each, a significant saving compared to the $3.95 per game pricing on MLB’s Digital Download Service. Additionally, fans can purchase a Season Pass for the “Game of the Week” at $19.99 or opt for a Multi-Pass for the “Daily Rewind” at $7.99 per month.

For those who prefer a more comprehensive package, MLB.TV remains a top choice, offering live streams of every 2007 regular season out-of-market game and much more.

Despite this, the new iTunes collaboration presents an appealing alternative, especially in light of MLB’s recent criticism over its exclusive deal with DirecTV, suggesting that increased media options are beneficial. It’s hoped that this initiative will be successful and lead to an expanded range of games and features available on iTunes.

To kick off the season, the iTunes Store is currently offering a 2007 Season Preview as a free download.
