Speculation: iPhone 3G Set for June 9th Release Date

According to a recent report by Gizmodo, insiders close to the development have confirmed that the iPhone 3G is set to be unveiled during the WWDC 2008 Keynote on June 9th.

While this might seem speculative, the depletion of the first-generation iPhone stocks, a series of international iPhone announcements last week, and the nearly confirmed keynote by Steve Jobs suggest that a significant announcement is imminent.

Gizmodo further suggests that following the U.S.

launch, the iPhone 3G will be made available in Europe, starting with Spain at the grand opening of the Telefonica megastore in Madrid on June 18th.

The June 9th announcement date works perfectly for me as it aligns with my plan to gift an iPhone 3G to my wife for our 29th anniversary! What are your thoughts on the latest iPhone 3G buzz? Feel free to share your opinions and don’t forget to participate in our poll:
