ApolloIM and MobileChat Merge to Enhance Messaging Services

Chat applications ApolloIM and MobileChat, both initially designed for jailbroken iPhones and iPod touches, have been in a competitive race to dominate the mobile messaging market. Recently, ApolloIM’s creator, Alex Schaefer, has transitioned to the MobileChat team, as announced in a blog post by MobileChat’s developer.

The post highlighted the competitive spirit between the two apps, which ultimately enhanced the user experience without declaring a definitive leader in the space.

With Schaefer’s move to MobileChat, improvements in the app’s stability and overall user experience are anticipated. According to the same announcement, his expertise will now be directed towards enhancing MobileChat.

Despite a challenging launch, where the app faced significant server issues, it has since made considerable progress and is performing much better.
