9/11 Memorial App Launches Exclusively on iPad

The digital application 9/11 Memorial: Past, Present and Future is set to offer a profound exploration similar to the earlier released NYPL Biblion: World’s Fair by the New York Public Library. This app provides a detailed chronicle of the Twin Towers, covering their inception, the tragic events of 2001, and the subsequent recovery efforts.

It features over 400 photographs and numerous hours of video content, and is exclusively available for the iPad.

Steve Rosenbaum, the writer and director of the app, shared with the New York Observer his choice of the iPad as the platform for this project. He emphasized the visual impact of the photographs, stating that presenting them in full color was essential and that the larger, high-quality display of the iPad would do them justice over smaller devices.

“I wanted it to be viewed on something big and glossy,” he explained.

The application is scheduled for release on September 1. According to Rosenbaum, it will be available for free until September 12, after which it will be priced at $9.95.
