Radio Shack Begins Pre-Orders for iPads

According to a CNET report, Radio Shack has initiated the first third-party pre-orders for Apple’s new iPad. Customers interested in pre-ordering must first buy a $50 gift card and then visit a Radio Shack store to complete their pre-order.

As an authorized seller of Apple products, Radio Shack offers both the WiFi and WiFi+3G versions of the iPad 2.

According to CNET, Radio Shack is also among the select few that allow trade-ins of previous iPad versions towards the purchase of a new one. We have contacted Radio Shack for confirmation of these details and are awaiting their response.

Update: Several Radio Shack staff members have confirmed the details of the report.

They also highlighted that Radio Shack offers a trade-in program for older iPad models and other electronic devices.
