VLC Media Player Makes a Comeback on the App Store

After an extended hiatus of over two years, the versatile video player VLC is making its comeback on the iOS platform.

The updated VLC application is already available in certain areas and is expected to be accessible globally, including in the US, by 11PM EST today.

You can download it here once it is live.

Previously, VLC was removed from the App Store in January of 2011 due to licensing issues raised by a key VLC contributor, claiming the iOS version breached the GPL license terms.
