For those who find the “recent contacts” feature in the iOS 8 multitasking screen more annoying than useful, there’s good news. You can easily turn off this feature to prevent names and faces from appearing every time you switch apps, which some users find cluttering.

To deactivate this option, simply navigate to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then scroll to the Contacts section.
