Apple TV surprised viewers this week by pulling the thriller series The Hunt only days before its planned December 3, 2025 premiere. The show appeared under its French title, A l’ombre des forêts, but it suddenly disappeared from the Apple TV app and from Apple’s press listings. Apple has not offered any explanation for this move.
Earlier this year, Apple also delayed the release of Savant. That decision followed political tension surrounding the assassination of activist Charlie Kirk. The timing of both moves raises questions, yet Apple has not connected the two situations.

Trailers and Listings Vanish Online
The disappearance goes beyond the app. Most information about the show no longer appears on Apple’s website. Only a June 2024 press release still references the series, and it uses the French title.
Promotional videos have also vanished. Several YouTube trailers have been deleted or set to private. However, trailers remain visible on Apple TV’s Australian, Canadian, and Mexican YouTube channels. This uneven removal adds to the confusion and suggests that the delay may not be global.
A Sudden Halt for a Completed Series
The Hunt tells the story of Franck and his friends. Their weekend hunting trip turns violent when they cross paths with a hostile group of hunters. The intense survival theme may have influenced Apple’s decision, but the company has not confirmed any link.
Right now, the show’s future remains unclear. Apple has not announced a new release window or even confirmed whether the series will return. Viewers who expected to watch it this week now face silence and uncertainty.
